Museum Leopold
Museumsplatz 1, Vienna, Austria
A compact block measuring 40 x 46 x 24 metres. All surfaces are clad with white Vraza coquina limestone. The massive stone shell has a finely worked surface in which large individual window openings are made. A wide external stairs leads to the entrance level 4 metres above the courtyard. Inside the building a glass-roofed atrium forms a centre for the museum rooms arranged around it on 3 levels. Beneath the atrium a two-storey hall provides two levels for visiting exhibitions.
