New Apostolic Church Pliezhausen
Bachstraße 40, Pliezhausen, Germany
The New Apostolic church stands out as a striking building in a prominent location in the centre of Pliezhausen. As a sculptural structure, it deliberately distinguishes itself from the surrounding residential buildings. The sloping nave rises transversely to the slope and forms a focal point facing the street. A striking feature are the walls made of lightweight concrete with a finely textured fair-faced concrete surface and deep window reveals. The addition of earth-coloured pigments created a surface similar to the locally prevalent tuff stone. The sacred atmosphere of the church interior, combined with a natural environment and meticulous craftsmanship, aims to provide visitors with a suitable place to step away from their everyday lives.
