Vogue Wedding Salon

This is the plan for the world's first wedding dress salon produced by the fashion magazine Vogue. We aimed to create a sacred space for the encounter with the special dresses worn at weddings.

Stepping into the salon from the first floor entrance, one first encounters the dress showroom. The semi-circular "apse," as seen in traditional churches, was used as a motif to create a symmetrical composition with a sense of depth. The dresses displayed along the curved stone walls are white against the gray background of the stone, highlighting the subtle design. Passing through the showroom, one enters a fitting room in a pale pink color. In contrast to the showroom's somber image, the soft, gentle colors allow visitors to take their time trying on dresses.

Proceeding to the second floor leads to a hall with impressive classic wood walls. Part of the wall is a hidden door that guests cannot see, and an office and stockroom are hidden behind it. The second floor is also symmetrical, creating a sequence that encourages visitors to feel uplifted.

The façade facing Kotto Dori is a glass wall with a series of curved surfaces like the drapes of a dress. The glass is printed with a white striped marble pattern, giving a softer impression by adding an organic element to the inorganic glass.

VOGUE's philosophy of respecting fashion traditions and culture while leading the cutting edge of fashion is incorporated into the space, which we hope will provide brides with a place to heighten their anticipation for their special day.
