Since 2003, the nonprofit Preservation Chicago has been drawing attention to imminently threatened historic buildings and public spaces in Chicago through its annual “Chicago 7 Most Endangered” lists. The group aims “to mobilize the stakeholder support necessary to save them from demolition” through the list, the latest of which was unveiled earlier this month. Not only does this year's Chicago 7 go to 8, some of the listed buildings/spaces are multiple—totally nearly 30 threatened places—including the eight bridges spanning the Chicago River and their related tender houses, and the even more numerous Labor Union Halls. The full list is below the short film from Preservation Chicago.
