The video interview was made in the context of Memoryscapes, the second exhibition in the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art’s “Architecture Connecting” series, now on view at the museum in Humlebæk, Denmark. (Read our review.) The exhibition features the work of DnA_Design and Architecture alongside the studio of Tsuyoshi Tane, who spoke with Louisiana Channel earlier this year

In the 15-minute video, embedded below and available on the website of Louisiana Channel, Xu Tiantian speaks at length about how her architectural acupuncture method differs from high-profile starchitecture and the creation of large-scale buildings. As she speaks, viewers see footage of some of the projects that follow from the approach, including the Tofu Factory in Songyang and Quarry No. 9 in Lishui. Xu Tiantian also speaks about the relationship between architecture and nature and argues that architects should be involved in projects earlier, to better shape how architecture serves communities.
